Bob Scurlock, Ph.D., ACTAR
Bob Scurlock graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Physics (Summa Cum Laude), a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy (Cum Laude), and a Minor in Mathematics; he continued on to obtain a Master of Science in Physics and a Doctorate in Experimental Physics, from the University of Florida. He has been consulting in motor vehicle accidents for over a decade. He has been certified by the Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction (ACTAR), and has participated in over 240 hours of specialized training in accident reconstruction, alongside officers from various law enforcement agencies from around the United States. He has also been certified by the Institute of Police Technology and Management (IPTM) in Event Data Recorder (EDR) use in Traffic Crash Reconstruction, Human Factors, Occupant Kinematics, Pedestrian Crash Investigation, Bicycle Crash Investigation, and Motorcycle Crash Investigation. He is a member of the National Association of Professional Accident Reconstruction Specialists (NAPARS), the Maryland Association of Traffic Accident Investigators (MdATAI), the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), and the American Physical Society (APS). He has provided guidance in algorithm design and implementation of accident reconstruction software to leading corporations in the forensic technology sector. Dr. Scurlock is also the CEO of vCRASH, Americas, Inc., a distributor of Virtual CRASH software, and Crash Animation Studios, Inc., a producer of forensic animations.
Tony Becker, ACTAR
Tony L. Becker has provided instruction to law enforcement officers, lawyers, and engineers in all aspects of traffic crash investigations for over 25 years. His over 35 years of public Law Enforcement experience includes serving in various capacities for the US Army, City of Bloomington IL Police Department, Henry County (Illinois) Sheriff’s Department, McLean County (Illinois) Coroner’s Office, the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board and the Institute of Police Technology and Management. He has also owned Becker Consulting, which has provided Traffic Crash Reconstruction and Training services for nearly 20 years. He is certified as an Accident Reconstruction Specialist by the Illinois Local Governmental Law Enforcement Officers Training Board and Department of Transportation, Division of Traffic Safety and has Full Accreditation as a Traffic Accident Reconstructionist by the Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction (ACTAR). Additionally, he earned certification as a Death Investigator by the American Board of Medicolegal Death Investigators. He belongs to the Illinois Association of Technical Accident Investigators and the Society of Automotive Engineers.
